All our sails are made from heavy Dacron sailcloth, with reinforced corners, stainless steel eye grommets and heavy webbing. The size of the sail depends on the size of your boat and to some extent the shape of the hull, forestay, mast and also your lazy-jack if relevant.
This sail has a design similar to a storm jib, is very versatile and easy to hoist. It is hoisted at the aft, with the mainsail halyard, attached to the backstay and with a pendant to the deck. It often improves the effect to sheet the sail to one side - either through a snatch block or the genua sheet block. By running the sheet back to a winch you can tighten the sail and avoid flogging.
If you have two or split backstays simply use one.
A high-performance v-shaped anchor riding sail that works well even in light winds. It is placed in the centerline of the boat - well above the cockpit. The top goes up with the mainsail halyard while the two clews are attached to the deck. To tighten the sail and avoid flogging the sheet going forward is best pulled through a snatch block or genua block and then back to a winch.
We recommend the following sizes:
Small - for boats up to 29 feet
Medium - for boats up to 35 feet
Large - for boats up to 42 feet
X-Large - for boats up to 55 feet
